STAX Unveils the SR-007S Electrostatic Earspeaker

Tokyo, Japan – June 20, 2025 – STAX Ltd., Japanese manufacturer and pioneer in electrostatic audio technology, is proud to announce the launch of the much anticipated SR-007S, the latest evolution in the iconic SR-007 series. Building on the legacy of the SR-007 and SR-007A, the SR-007S introduces advanced technology in its iconic signature design to deliver an unparalleled listening experience. The new SR-007S earspeaker is available for order from June 30, 2025 onwards.

At the heart of the SR-007S is an entirely new level of precision engineering, featuring updated diaphragms and refined fixed electrodes. These enhancements improve the clarity of sound detail across the frequency spectrum, preserving the deep, resonant tones that have made the SR-007 series a benchmark in the industry.

STAX has leveraged its enhanced high-precision etching process to reduce the air vent hole diameter of the fixed electrodes by 20% compared to earlier models. This meticulous advancement allows for optimized airflow and an acoustic sound profile that is both highly immersive and breathtakingly accurate.

Inspired by the flagship SR-X9000, the SR-007S incorporates a distinct arc utilizing a seamless stainless steel plate for enhanced rigidity that reduces vibration. The innovative movable hinge section improves fit and comfort, while the rubber material on the head pad attachment preserves the series’ signature adjustment-free, snug fit.

The SR-007S earpads feature a rotating design that adapts to all head shapes, improving both comfort and fit. The sheepskin material used also enhances sound quality by reducing unwanted reflections and optimizing acoustic absorption. The newly redesigned inner earpad further refines sound absorption, offering a heightened sense of perspective and contributing to a more expansive, precise soundscape. Finished in the STAX signature brown, the SR-007S pays homage to the traditional aesthetic of the 007 series.

Detachable Cable Design

As with all new earspeaker models, the SR-007S also features the detachable cable system. This design simplifies maintenance, extends product longevity, and provides users with a modular approach to their audio needs. The attached OFC parallel 6-strand wide cable ensures premium signal transmission with ultra-low capacitance for pristine audio fidelity.
