Sierra Sound named new distributor for Sorane tonearms in the USA

As of June 2025, Sierra Sound has been named as the new distributor for Sorane tonearms in the USA.

Sorane tonearms (pronounced so-rah-nay) are hand-crafted at a small family-run factory based just outside of Tokyo, Japan. Offering tonearms in three distinct models and ranging in price from $1700 to $2500, the Sorane brand has become very popular with custom plinth builders, vintage turntable enthusiasts, and audiophiles interested in upgrading from their stock tonearms on a wide range of turntable models.

Through Sorane’s international sales agency Youtek, an agreement has been made for these tonearms to be imported and distributed in the USA by California-based distributor Sierra Sound, which is celebrating its 5th year in business. Sierra Sound is a company that is exclusively focused on analog audio, representing such brands as AMG, Benz Micro, ViV Laboratory, Connected Fidelity, and others.
